Barnes & Noble Book FairOn December 13, 2009, Barnes & Noble will be sponsoring ASCS day at their Northpark Mall store. A portion of your purchases will be given back to the ASCS Media Center. A Barnes & Noble Book Fair voucher needs to be presented at the time of purchase or ASCS needs to be mentioned. Vouchers are available in the school office or can be downloaded by clicking here. Invite your family and friends to help support All Saints Catholic School and do some Christmas shopping at the same time! The ASCS band and choir ensembles will be performing at the store later in the afternoon that day. Scrip is back!Scrip is a fundraiser that benefits All Saints Catholic School. You order gift certificates, or scrip, from popular retailers such as Walgreens, Blockbuster, Wendy's and more. We are able to buy the certificates at a discount and then you buy them at face value. So, if you need a $10 Starbucks card, you spend only $10. The school keeps the difference in price. We will accept pre-paid orders for scrip each month until the 15th. The order form is available on our school Website at the Newsnote Archive or can be picked up at school from the rack by the Marquette Street doors. Please send all orders and cash or check payments to the school office marked to the attention of A. Kersten. If you would like to pay for your order with credit card, please stop by the school office. 8th Grade is Going GreenWondered why a large trailer is parked on the north side of the school? The 8th grade class has set a goal to fill it with paper for recycling. Send us your newspaper, office paper, magazines, phone books and paperback books. Paper can be dropped off at school anytime, but the trailer is only open on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:00 PM and Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 AM on school days. Shoes for the ShoelessOnce again, our intrepid fourth grade classes have taken on the task of gathering gently used shoes and new socks for those less fortunate in our community. This project runs through November 30th and all donations are greatly appreciated. |
Thanks, Scott County Regional Authority! All Saints Catholic School received a Spring 2009 grant from the Scott County Regional Authority (SCRA). We were able to replace equipment that has failed over the past three years and to acquire supporting equipment, allowing us continued use of our existing, functioning technology resources. This helped us to maintain a ratio of five students to each computer. Providing this level of resources allows equitable access to all our students and staff while fully supporting our curriculum. Through the grant we were able to purchase 15 laptops, 16 replacement power adapters, 10 USB mice, and three multimedia projectors. All told, this grant totaled over $15,000. The All Saints community truly appreciates the support of the SCRA! Would You Like More Information? If you would like to find out more about All Saints Catholic School, please e-mail or call us.
